Daina Pastare

Daina Pastare is a neurologist and the Head of the General Neurology Department at Riga East University Hospital, as well as the Head of the Multiple Sclerosis Unit.

Dr. Pastare is also an Associate Professor at Riga Stradiņš University, where she leads the neurology course and is actively involved in teaching neurology, as well as supervising scientific work for both students and residents. She defended her PhD thesis on visual pathway damage in patients with multiple sclerosis in 2016. Her research focuses primarily on multiple sclerosis and other demyelinating diseases.

In addition, Dr. Pastare is the Latvian representative to the European Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ECTRIMS) and the European Academy of Neurology (EAN). She is also a board member and certification committee member of the Latvian Society of Neurologists.
