
Kestutis Petrikonis
Prof. Kestutis Petrikonis, MD, PhD, is a Lithuanian neurologist and Professor at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU), where he also serves as Vice Rector for Academic Affairs. Since completing his medical and neurology training and earning his PhD on lumbosacral radicular syndrome, he has led clinical work at Kauno Klinikos, heading the Subunit for Peripheral Nervous System and Neuromuscular Diseases. His research spans neuropathic pain, ALS, neuromuscular disorders, as well as Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases, with publications focusing on pain management, pharmacotherapy, stroke, neurogenetics, and medical education. Prof. Petrikonis is Chair of the Society of Neurologists in Kaunas, Chair of the Council for Quality Assessment in Higher Education, and actively contributes to international neurology forums including the EAN and IASP. He continues to shape both clinical practice and academic standards in neurology while mentoring the next generation of specialists.
