
Janika Kõrv
Janika Kõrv, MD, PhD is Professor of Clinical Neurology at the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery, University of Tartu, and Senior Consultant Neurologist at Tartu University Hospital, Estonia. She chairs the Estonian Stroke Initiative Group and serves on the board of the Estonian L. Puusepp Society of Neurologists and Neurosurgeons.
Dr Kõrv has led national projects focused on stroke clinical audits and the improvement of stroke care quality in Estonia. She is the national (co-)coordinator for several international initiatives, including the Stroke Action Plan for Europe, ESO-EAST, ESO Trials Alliance, and multiple academic multicentre stroke trials.
She serves on the editorial board of the European Stroke Journal and is an Associate Editor for the European Journal of Neurology. Additionally, she has acted as a peer reviewer for numerous medical journals and contributed to stroke guideline development through the European Stroke Organisation (ESO) and the European Academy of Neurology (EAN).
From 2015 to 2019, Dr Kõrv served as Chair of the Board of the Nordic Stroke Society. Currently, she is Co-Chair of the ESO Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Advisory Group.
